Transportation Demand Management
professionals were presented with a 90-minute overview of telework best
practices, focusing on examples, methodologies and market penetration techniques
for telework as a transportation solution. The presentation, entitled The
New Time Clock" -- Telework & Flex-Time stimulated excellent questions
and provoked a renewed discussion on the potential of telework.
Atlanta Electronic Commerce
Forum:
A presentation by Michael
Dziak entitled The Technology Manager's Role in the Telework Strategy
was well received by this audience of more than eighty IT professionals.
Dziak provided answers to such questions as: How should teleworkers be
supported? Who should keep track of remote equipment? How does IT keep
a lid on security? Who should pay for all this? Should company software
be installed in employees' computers? Should employees' computers be used
at all? What kind of influence can the CIO have on these tough decisions?
Clean Air Campaign:
As a member of a 'panel
of telework experts' for two sessions, Michael Dziak presented local
examples and best practice program processes to answer questions from an
audience of employers interested in establishing telework programs.
Fayette County Development
Authority:
Michael Dziak presented
the Promotion of Home-Based Businesses and Teleworkers in Fayette County
before an attentive Established Business Initiative Workshop. Dziak's proposal
to designate Fayette County as a "Telework Friendly Community" (later proposed
as an 'e-Work Community") was well received by the distinguished members
of the audience.
Buckhead Business Association:
Michael Dziak presented
the fundamentals of telework and how remote work can solve a variety or
challenges facing the Buckhead community. "From my seat in the front of
the crowd (and a full house it was)" said one BBA member, "I noted the
eye-opening interest, active body language and rapt engagement in your
comments. Therefore, I think we learned a lot, and took "home" some new
and useful information about pollution and productivity."
